The election for the new chairman of the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association is set for tomorrow, drawing significant attention from the baseball community. Wu Ssu-hsien, former head coach of the Brothers Elephants, has publicly voiced his support for Kuo Chih-hui, a former minister of economic affairs.

If there is an opportunity to take on the responsibility of chairman of the Baseball Association, I hope not to overturn the past, but to integrate the strengths of government, corporations, education, and the baseball world on the foundation of the efforts of previous seniors.

Kuo Chih-hui, who also served as chairman of the TransAsia Industrial Group and vice chairman of the Baseball Association, stated that if elected, he would not seek to overturn past efforts but rather build upon them. His vision includes integrating the strengths of government, corporations, educational institutions, and the baseball world. He aims to establish a transparent governance culture, a robust grassroots development system, and a consistent platform for supporting the national team.

Wu Ssu-hsien's endorsement highlights Kuo Chih-hui's dedication, noting his substantial financial contributions to amateur teams and his genuine desire to improve baseball in Taiwan. "In recent years, there has been much discussion about the Baseball Association's operations. From my frontline observation, there is room for improvement in the overall system," Wu said. He expressed optimism about a future with professional specialization, more transparent decision-making, and better integration between the national team and grassroots development, which he believes would positively impact Taiwan's baseball progress.

The election involves 486 eligible voters, including 424 individual members and 62 representatives from group members. The process will first see all members elect 31 directors and 9 supervisors. From this group, 9 standing directors and 3 standing supervisors will be chosen, with the standing directors ultimately electing the chairman. In case of a tie, a draw will decide the outcome.
