Taiwan's "Fireballer," 27-year-old right-handed pitcher Liu Chih-jung, is making a triumphant return to the baseball mound after overcoming a difficult rehabilitation journey. His comeback signifies a rebirth for the talented pitcher, who has battled injuries in recent years.

Liu was released by the Boston Red Sox in June but has since joined the Asian Games training squad. During a recent practice game in Japan, he demonstrated his resurgent form by pitching one scoreless inning with two strikeouts against a corporate team, even clocking a 152 kph fastball. This performance signals a gradual return to his former strong pitching prowess.

Reflecting on his comeback, Liu shared his emotions on social media: "Being able to wear the jersey and play the baseball I love the most is one of the greatest happinesses in my life. I am grateful for all the support and companionship during this period. I will continue to work hard."

Following his departure from the Red Sox, Liu's next career move has been a subject of keen interest.
