Bauchi Governor's APC Defection Talks Collapse Over Power-Sharing Dispute

Political maneuvering in Nigeria has taken a sharp turn as talks between Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have officially broken down. Samaila Burga, Chairman of the Turaki-led PDP faction in Bauchi, announced the collapse of negotiations, pointing to the APC's inflexibility on a proposed 60/40 power-sharing arrangement and other critical conditions. "This is how it has been done in other places where governors defected to the APC. They rejected this formula, and we have closed that discussion," Burga stated, as reported by Daily Trust.
