Bayern Munich claims German Super Cup after beating Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich has kicked off the new competitive season with a dominant performance, securing the German Super Cup by defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in a thrilling match.

Bayern established their authority early, controlling the game from the start. Coach Vincent Kompany's tactical decision to play Nathaniel Brown, usually a left-back, as an emergency attacking midfielder proved successful. In the 28th minute, after a build-up initiated by Joshua Kimmich, Michael Olise provided a short pass to Brown, who calmly finished with his left foot to put Bayern ahead 1-0.

The Bavarian giants extended their lead just before halftime. In added time, Olise capitalized on a misplaced pass from Jobe Bellingham, stole the ball, and used his speed to break through the Dortmund defense before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Gregor Kobel for a clinical 2-0 finish.

Borussia Dortmund showed signs of life in the second half. Fabio Silva managed to pull a goal back in the 72nd minute, following a play orchestrated by Giannis Konstantelias. However, the match intensified when Dortmund's Bensebaini received a red card in stoppage time, leaving his team with a numerical disadvantage and unable to find an equalizer. Bayern held on to secure their first title of the season.
