BDB Land to develop new commercial center in Jitra

BDB Land Sdn. Bhd. is launching a new commercial hub, Darulaman Commercial District (DCD), in Bandar Darulaman, Jitra, Kedah. The project boasts a gross development value of RM41.5 million. Spanning 2.02 hectares, the DCD will feature 45 units of two- and three-story shop offices, alongside a new corporate office building for BDB Land. This development is designed to complement the existing community by serving as a business center and lifestyle destination. Group CEO Che Abdul Khalid Md Din highlighted the project's strategic location adjacent to the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and near amenities like Darulaman Golf & Country Club and Tasik Darulaman Park. He noted that this accessibility and proximity to attractions provide significant advantages and economic spillover potential. "This strategic location will strengthen the economic connectivity of the area by linking housing, commercial, recreational, and tourism within a complementary ecosystem," Che Abdul Khalid stated. He added that the DCD is part of BDB's ongoing efforts to bolster the property market ecosystem in Bandar Darulaman, which already includes over 5,000 residential units and mixed-development components. The development aims to provide well-organized and modern business spaces to meet current and future needs, stimulating economic activity in retail, services, and entrepreneurship. Site clearing and land preparation have commenced, with construction phases to follow. BDB Land emphasizes its commitment to long-term impact on property values and community well-being, adhering to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
