Beauty and sex appeal will not guarantee success in Nigeria's Nollywood film industry, according to actress Ebun Hodo. She contends that while physical attractiveness might open some doors, it is ultimately talent and dedication that pave the way for a lasting career.

She cautioned that relying solely on one's looks is a limited strategy, adding, "your distribution of sex appeal won’t take you anywhere in Nollywood, except through the usual shortcuts like juju."

Hodo stressed that the industry demands more than just a pretty face. "Nollywood is an industry where talent and dedication matter more than looks," she reiterated. "You need to bring something real to the table, whether it’s passion, hard work, or a commitment to your craft, because looks will only get you so far." She questioned whether aspiring actors possess the necessary knowledge and ability to interpret roles with depth and conviction, suggesting these qualities are paramount for being among the "chosen" few.
