Bekasi Police Investigate Origin of 65 Grams of Methamphetamine Seized from Suspect

Authorities in Bekasi, Indonesia, have arrested a man identified as SH in connection with drug trafficking, seizing 65 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The arrest occurred in Tambun Selatan on Monday evening, according to police reports.

AKP Aliyani, Head of Public Relations for the Bekasi Metro Police, stated that the origin of the illicit substance is currently under investigation. "The drugs were obtained from outside the Bekasi area," Aliyani said, indicating that the suspect acquired the methamphetamine in Tangerang before planning to distribute it within Bekasi and surrounding regions.

The operation began after police received public tips about suspected drug transaction activities in the Mangunjaya sub-district. A special unit from the Bekasi Metro Police Narcotics Unit swiftly responded, leading to SH's apprehension around 9:23 PM. During the search of the suspect and the location, officers discovered multiple packages of methamphetamine, including ten black-taped packages weighing nine grams and 28 red-taped packages weighing ten grams. A larger plastic bag containing 46 grams of the drug was also found.

In addition to the narcotics, police confiscated several items believed to be related to the drug trade. These include two digital scales, empty plastic clip bags, drug paraphernalia, red tape, two mobile phones, and two motorcycles. The suspect and all seized evidence have been transported to the Bekasi Metro Police Narcotics Unit for further processing and investigation. Police are working to complete investigative procedures, send the evidence for laboratory analysis, conduct urine tests on the suspect, and coordinate with prosecutors. The police also urged the public to report any suspected drug-related activities in their communities.
