Belgium braces for another hot week, with highs up to 35 degrees Celsius

Belgium is set for another week of high temperatures, with forecasters predicting a sweltering period ahead. Today is expected to be the peak of the heatwave, with thermometers potentially climbing as high as 35 degrees Celsius in localized areas.

Weather presenter Jacotte described the day as "scorching hot," with maximum temperatures anticipated to reach 30 degrees Celsius in the Ardennes region. Coastal areas will experience slightly cooler conditions, with highs around 32 degrees, while inland locations could see temperatures soar to 34 degrees. The forecast also indicates abundant sunshine throughout the day.

A gentle southerly wind is expected to provide minimal relief from the heat. Overnight, the weather will remain clear to partly cloudy, with minimum temperatures ranging from a mild 15 degrees to a warmer 21 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat.
