Belgrade Mayor Plans 10-Year Outsourcing of New Year's Decorations to Private Firm

Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Šapić is reportedly planning to hand over the city's New Year's decoration services to a private entity for a decade, according to Ana Gođevac, vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party's (SSP) Belgrade board.

Gođevac stated that the proposed contract is valued at approximately 2 million euros annually, accumulating to about 20 million euros over the 10-year period. Under this plan, the private contractor would be responsible for conceptualizing the decorations, procuring ornaments, installation, removal, and storage.

She criticized the current administration's capability, asserting that they are unable to organize the New Year's decorations without involving private companies and significant budget allocations.
