Belgrade prosecutor expands investigation into Senjak murder case

Belgrade's Higher Public Prosecutor's Office has expanded its investigation into the aggravated murder of Aleksandar Nešović, who was killed on May 12, 2026, at the "27" restaurant in Senjak. The office announced that Saša V. and Mario S. are now charged with aggravated murder, committed in complicity. They are also facing charges for illegal production, possession, and trafficking of weapons and explosives, as well as causing general danger.

The prosecution detailed that Nešović was allegedly killed in a "treacherous manner" by Saša V. and Mario S. inside the restaurant. The indictment states that the suspects intentionally and knowingly deprived Nešović of his life, while also illegally carrying a firearm. Saša V. is further accused of causing general danger by firing the weapon, endangering the lives and safety of others present.

Adding to the charges, Danka V., the wife of suspect Saša V., is accused of aiding and abetting the aggravated murder. She is also charged with illegal weapons possession. According to the prosecution, she allegedly provided the firearm used in the murder to her husband and Mario S., thereby facilitating the commission of the crime. The investigation also involves eight other individuals against whom evidentiary actions are being taken.

Authorities are meticulously gathering material evidence, questioning witnesses, and awaiting the results of various expert examinations. The investigation is ongoing, with the prosecution working to piece together all aspects of the crime, including the motive and the full extent of the involvement of all parties.
