Belgrano had every chance to win, then missed the last one in a wild 1-1 draw with Huracán

Belgrano had one final chance to win, and the entire match hinged on it. With the game tied 1-1, Lucas Zelarayán won a penalty in the last play, and referee Luis Lobo Medina told Lucas Passerini, who had entered 20 minutes earlier, to take it and end the match.

Passerini struck the ball with everything he had. It came back off the crossbar, leaving Belgrano with a draw after a night in which it had twice seen goals ruled out and dominated much of the play.

The Pirata controlled possession from the start and created the more dangerous attacks, forcing Huracán goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez into repeated interventions. Belgrano eventually took the lead when Ramiro Hernandes created space for Nicolás Fernández, who controlled the ball in the area and fired an impressive left-footed volley.

Huracán levelled in the 84th minute through Jordy Caicedo. Juan Bisanz and Óscar Cortés combined before the Ecuadorian laid the ball off for César Ibáñez, whose precise cross found Caicedo for a powerful header.

Earlier, VAR disallowed a Belgrano goal after Emiliano Rigoni handled the ball before a cross led to an own goal by Máximo Palazzo. Huracán also had a goal ruled out for offside, although television replays made the decision look unclear. The match at the Julio César Villagra Stadium also included a tribute to Lionel Messi after his retirement from Argentina's national team, with applause and flags for the number 10.
