Ben Affleck's thriller 'Animals' to debut Oct. 9 on Netflix and in theaters

Ben Affleck is set to release his latest directorial effort, the thriller 'Animals,' on October 9. The film will be available in select theaters and on the Netflix platform.

Affleck not only directs but also co-wrote and stars in the movie. He plays Mark Kimball, a candidate for Los Angeles mayor. The plot centers on Kimball and his wife, Abigail, portrayed by Kerry Washington, as they race against time to gather ransom money following their son's kidnapping. Their efforts are complicated by a dangerous web of deceit that threatens the life they have built.

The ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Gillian Anderson, Adriana Paz, Ray Fisher, Christopher Woodley, Matt Gerald, Jacob Estrada, Luis Gerardo Méndez, and Steven Yeun, adding significant star power to the project.

'Animals' is produced in collaboration with Artists Equity, a studio co-founded by Affleck and Matt Damon. This partnership highlights Affleck's continued commitment to creating artist-driven projects. The film's production is a joint effort involving Affleck, Damon, and their respective teams, alongside Brad Weston and Collin Creighton of Makeready.
