Bengaluru woman, lover arrested for murdering husband and son

A woman and her lover have been arrested in Bengaluru for the brutal murder of her husband and young son. Police detained Harini, 25, and Vinay, 30, on Tuesday, following preliminary investigations into the deaths that occurred Sunday night.

Investigators revealed that Harini allegedly invited Vinay to her home around 11 p.m. Sunday. The couple reportedly conspired to kill Harini's husband, Abhinandan, 34. The five-year-old son was allegedly killed when he witnessed his father's murder.

Both Harini and Vinay have confessed to the crime during interrogation. Police confirmed they have been in a relationship for about five years. Authorities are now meticulously examining the circumstances that led to the planning and execution of the murders, including CCTV footage, call records, and mobile phone data.

Preliminary findings suggest Harini may have switched off the house's CCTV cameras before the attack. The couple allegedly used an iron rod to strike Abhinandan on the head and then smothered him. Police suspect Harini attempted to clean bloodstains and wash stained clothing, while the pair tried to make the child's death appear accidental, possibly from suffocation during sleep.

Vinay, employed at a private company, and Abhinandan, a diploma engineer working in another firm, were reportedly in separate professions. The investigation continues to probe the couple's long-standing relationship and whether the murders were premeditated.
