Berlin Plans Central Service Hub for Event Organization

Berlin is set to launch a central service center designed to simplify the organization of events, ranging from major congresses to sporting competitions. The initiative, announced by the Senate Chancellery, seeks to enhance support for event organizers and foster better cooperation between city authorities and the events sector.

This move is intended to bolster Berlin's position as a leading European hub for events. The service center will act as a primary point of contact, offering guidance, clarifying responsibilities, and providing information on necessary documentation and timelines. Additionally, it will offer resources such as guides and checklists, alongside a central information portal to assist organizers.

Events play a crucial role in Berlin's economy, attracting millions of visitors annually. In 2025, the city hosted around 87,000 events, drawing approximately 13.7 million attendees. These gatherings not only stimulate tourism but also support local businesses, including retail, gastronomy, and the hotel industry.

"Berlin is capable of hosting major events. We are already one of Europe's leading event metropolises," stated Economics Senator Franziska Giffey (SPD). "However, we also recognize that processes for organizers, guests, and Berliners need improvement to attract and retain successful events in the capital."
