Berlin police kill suspect in Pride parade attack

Berlin police have located the suspect in Saturday's attack on a Pride parade procession, with German media reporting that the individual was killed by police fire during an operation in Berlin-Spandau. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Abdul B., was found in the western Berlin district.

According to reports from SPIEGEL and BILD, shots were fired during the arrest. Police stated that officers were attacked and returned fire. Berlin's Interior Senator Iris Spranger expressed gratitude to the authorities for their swift apprehension of the suspect, calling it a significant achievement.

The incident on Saturday saw a white van swerve off the road near the Tiergarten park, striking pedestrians. The vehicle traveled approximately 450 meters before crashing into a tree. One person died, and dozens were injured in the attack. Authorities had previously identified Abdul B. as the suspect, warning the public that he might be armed and dangerous.
