Bersatu to Decide on Using Own Logo Tonight

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is set to decide tonight on its electoral strategy for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election, specifically whether to contest under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition's banner or its own party symbol. The crucial decision will be made during a meeting of the party's Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) at its headquarters.

Sources indicate that the party leadership, including President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, will deliberate on this matter. This internal discussion comes after observations from the recent Johor state election, where the use of a common coalition logo reportedly led to confusion among voters, particularly among the Malay community. The situation in Johor, where different factions of the coalition appeared to use distinct branding, has prompted Bersatu to reconsider its approach.

To avoid a similar scenario in Negeri Sembilan, Bersatu is reportedly leaning towards fielding candidates under its own logo. This move would allow the party to present a clearer identity to the electorate. Reports suggest that Bersatu has already purchased nomination forms for the 30 state seats it intends to contest. If Bersatu opts for its own symbol, it is expected to collaborate with parties within the Ikatan Muafakat Rakyat (IMR) coalition.
