Bersatu VP: Believing cooperation with PH is 'stupid'

Bersatu Vice President Ahmad Faizal Azumu has strongly refuted allegations that his party is moving towards cooperation with Pakatan Harapan (PH). He labeled those who believe such claims as "stupid" and suggested the rumors are intentionally spread to confuse supporters of Perikatan Nasional (PN) and undermine grassroots confidence in Bersatu's stance.

He emphasized Bersatu's unwavering commitment to its core principles: promoting Islam, uplifting the Malay community, and defending national sovereignty. He made these remarks during a Bersatu Perak event in Taiping.

Recent speculation about Bersatu potentially rejoining PH arose due to perceived tensions between Bersatu and PAS. However, Faizal asserted that Bersatu remains committed to its partners within PN and experiences no internal issues. "We are steadfast with PN until today, and I hope it continues for a long time," he said.

Faizal also indicated Bersatu's openness to political cooperation with other parties through electoral alliances, similar to previous announcements involving parties like Pejuang and Putra. Such collaborations, he clarified, would be limited to entities sharing a common stance in opposing the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He specifically stated that Bersatu would not cooperate with DAP, which he accused of prioritizing specific group interests to the detriment of national harmony.
