Beşiktaş: Dusan Vlahovic's Future Hinges on His Contract Expectations

Beşiktaş Football Director Önder Özen has provided an update on the club's transfer activities, addressing speculation surrounding striker Dusan Vlahovic. Özen clarified the club's position on the potential acquisition of the player, who is currently a free agent.

"Regarding Dusan Vlahovic, as the player is a free agent, the decision rests with him," Özen explained during a press conference. He indicated that if Vlahovic's preferences lie with the top five leagues in Europe, then Turkey would not be among his choices. However, Özen expressed Beşiktaş's interest should an opportunity arise for the club to sign him.

Özen noted that Vlahovic had a strong season under coach Vincenzo Italiano, with whom the player maintains a respectful relationship and a potential desire to work again. "But players' priorities are not choosing a coach, but choosing their contracts," Özen added. "I assume Vlahovic is expecting a large-scale contract. I also believe he would want to be in a team competing in the Champions League."

"We have not had official contact with Vlahovic through official channels," Özen confirmed. "Our coach Italiano has spoken with him. We more or less know what he is expecting. He wants to see where his ceiling is. When one striker moves, all of them will move. He will make his decision based on that movement."
