BGN Searched by Prosecutors; Vice Speaker Defers to Law Enforcement

Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Vice Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), confirmed he has received information regarding investigators searching the office of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). However, he has not yet obtained further details about any potential arrests stemming from the operation.

"Whatever it is, we leave it to law enforcement officials who undoubtedly have their own considerations," Dasco stated at the DPR/MPR Complex on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. The search was carried out by investigators from the Deputy Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). Several officials were observed at the BGN office in the Kebon Sirih area of Central Jakarta on Wednesday morning.

A security officer at the BGN office reported that the investigative team arrived around 2:00 AM WIB, using four vehicles. The officer also mentioned the presence of TNI personnel providing security during the process. Mochamad Jeffry, the acting Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General's Office, confirmed the search at the BGN office by Jampidsus investigators but declined to provide specific details, stating that a formal release would follow.

The search has drawn attention as it occurred just a day after President Prabowo replaced the leadership of BGN. Minister/State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced the appointment of Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the new Head of BGN, succeeding Dadan Hindayana. Nanik previously served as the Deputy Head of BGN. The President also reshuffled the deputy head positions, with Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung replaced by Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono. Prasetyo explained these changes resulted from a government evaluation over the past 18 months concerning the implementation of the MBG program, incorporating feedback from ministries and beneficiaries.
