BHS Dispatches Ship and 12 Trucks of Aid to NTT Earthquake Victims

Bambang Haryo Soekartono (BHS), a member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, has demonstrated solidarity with earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) by dispatching 12 trucks laden with humanitarian aid. The aid shipment departed from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java, on Friday, August 21, 2026.

The initiative was funded through BHS Lepas's personal resources and corporate social responsibility (CSR) from PT Dharma Lautan Utama Holding (DLU). The Association of River, Lake, and Ferry Transportation Entrepreneurs (Gapasdap) also contributed to the effort. Beyond essential goods like food packages, PT Dharma Lautan Utama Holding generously provided one of its vessels to facilitate the aid delivery to NTT Province.

The aid is specifically targeted at Nagekeo Regency, identified as the most severely affected area by the earthquake. BHS Lepas explained that Nagekeo was prioritized because initial reports indicated that the region had received relatively limited assistance. The direct delivery aims to ensure the community's needs are met promptly.

"Nagekeo is the priority because the information we received is that assistance entering that region is still quite limited. Therefore, we are trying to send aid directly so that the community's needs can be met immediately," BHS stated in a press release in Jakarta on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
