Federal deputy Bia Kicis has publicly endorsed Michelle Bolsonaro's bid for a Senate seat, asserting that the position rightfully belongs to the former first lady. "The Senate needs Michelle, not the other way around. This seat is hers," Kicis stated, responding to pressure from within the Liberal Party (PL) for greater public backing of Bolsonaro.

Kicis's strong defense comes amid internal party discussions and aims to unify factions ahead of elections. The party's president, Valdemar Costa Neto, recently commented on internal strife among female members, suggesting that "women create problems for each other" and that "no one is up to the former first lady's level."

Speculation about Michelle Bolsonaro potentially withdrawing from the Senate race had led to behind-the-scenes discussions about alternative candidates, including Kicis herself and Senator Izalci Lucas. However, Kicis's vocal support signals a commitment to ensuring Bolsonaro's candidacy.

"Michelle Bolsonaro does not need a mandate to be the leader of right-wing women in the country. And I am by her side, working so that we can run together, on a pure ticket, as the two PL candidates in the Federal District," Kicis added. The party is also considering Kicis's re-election to the Chamber of Deputies, though Senator Rogério Marinho is advocating for maximum candidacies in the capital.
