The reality show Big Brother Naija has introduced a significant twist named 'The Gambit,' altering the competition dynamics for its current season. Viewers now have the power to choose one male and one female contestant who will automatically secure a place in the grand finale.

However, this guaranteed spot comes with a substantial sacrifice: The Gambits are barred from competing for the season's record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize. Organizers announced the twist during a live interaction with the housemates and simultaneously opened voting across the show's official social media platforms.

Biggie, the show's enigmatic host, explained that The Gambit offers security and longevity within the Big Brother house but explicitly prohibits the chosen contestants from vying for the ultimate cash reward. Despite this limitation, The Gambits will continue to participate fully in all house activities, earn rewards, and experience the show as regular housemates.

This gameplay is called The Gambit. Should you be selected, you will be gifted longevity in the Big Brother house, guaranteeing you a place in the game until the end of the season. However, it comes with one important condition. You will not be competing for the grand prize. You will, however, remain a fully-fledged housemate, and all the rules of the game still apply to you.

Currently, all housemates are eligible for selection, with the exception of Chimsom Chuka, who holds the position of Head of House for the week. This new twist follows closely on the heels of the season's debut, which also saw Chuka emerge as the first Head of House.
