Binh Dan Hospital Supports Ba Ria Hospital with 5 Surgical Fields, Doctors to Stay 5 Years

Binh Dan Hospital, a leading surgical center in Ho Chi Minh City, is embarking on a significant initiative to bolster the capabilities of Ba Ria General Hospital. This collaboration focuses on developing five key surgical fields: thoracic and vascular surgery, general surgery, urology, anesthesiology, and diagnostic imaging.

The program prioritizes minimally invasive surgical techniques. Binh Dan Hospital will lend Ba Ria General Hospital two ultrasound machines and a digestive endoscopy system to improve diagnostic and treatment capabilities for gastrointestinal and abdominal conditions. This transfer of equipment aims to immediately enhance patient care within Ba Ria.

A novel aspect of this partnership involves Binh Dan Hospital sending young, recently graduated doctors to work at Ba Ria General Hospital for an extended period. These physicians, after completing five years of service in Ba Ria, will be given priority consideration for positions back at Binh Dan Hospital if they wish to return. This strategy aims to build a sustainable pool of skilled medical professionals in Ba Ria.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Health to strengthen healthcare services in lower-tier hospitals. Ba Ria General Hospital is also receiving support from six other major hospitals in the city. The appointment of Dr. Pham Huu Doan from Binh Dan Hospital as Deputy Director of Ba Ria General Hospital, and Dr. Tran Ngoc Trieu as Director, further solidifies this collaborative framework.
