BINUS SCHOOL Simprug Named Best in Asia for Impactful Education

BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, located in South Jakarta, has been honored with the Champion title in the EDU FOR GOOD category at the prestigious Brands For Good Awards 2024 in Singapore. This recognition highlights the school's commitment to impactful education that extends far beyond traditional academic excellence.

The Brands For Good Awards, in collaboration with the Singapore International Mastery Contests Center (SIMCC) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), introduced the EDU FOR GOOD category to acknowledge educational institutions dedicated to creating tangible social and environmental impacts. This year's event saw participation from approximately 110 brands across more than 25 countries.

Aaron Wise, the Head of School at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, stated that the award signifies the school's dedication to nurturing students who not only excel academically but also contribute positively to their surroundings. This ethos is instilled from the Primary Years Programme (PYP), where students learn to connect inquiry with responsible action.

He elaborated that this value is cultivated through student-led initiatives, alumni contributions, and a supportive parent community that enriches learning experiences beyond the classroom.

The school's approach to impactful education focuses on developing individuals who can transform empathy into tangible actions and foster sustainable positive change. An example of this is the NAVCANE, a device for the visually impaired developed by students, which was selected for the IB Global Youth Action Fund, demonstrating how classroom learning can lead to real-world solutions.
