Biobío Regional Labor Secretary Denounced for Alleged Misuse of Official Vehicle

Camila Álvarez, the regional secretary of Labor for Biobío, is under scrutiny following a complaint filed with the Comptroller General's office regarding the alleged misuse of a state-owned vehicle. The accusation stems from a former employee who claims Álvarez used the official car for personal activities.

Specifically, the complaint alleges that Álvarez used the vehicle for non-official purposes, such as personal coffee runs to a Starbucks in Concepción and for attending private medical appointments. The complaint also points to an alleged improper use of institutional social media accounts, suggesting Álvarez requested login credentials to post photos that would benefit a specific political figure.

When reached for comment, Álvarez stated that no formal complaint has been received through any official channels. She asserted that if a formal complaint is lodged, she will respond in due course through the appropriate procedures established by the Comptroller's office. She emphasized that until a formal document is received, she cannot anticipate the response, but assured that any necessary response would be handled through official means and within the established timelines.
