Bishkek and Moscow hold consultations on cooperation with the United Nations

Officials from Kyrgyzstan and Russia held consultations focused on how the two countries will work together at the United Nations.

Kirill Loginov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations, met Melis Mamadaliev, his counterpart at Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry. Russia’s Foreign Ministry press service reported the meeting.

The talks included Kyrgyzstan’s upcoming term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2027 and 2028. The ministry said the officials exchanged views in a constructive atmosphere on a broad range of issues involving cooperation in the world organization.

According to the Russian statement, the consultations confirmed a high degree of similarity in the two countries’ approaches to major international issues. The officials also identified opportunities to expand foreign-policy coordination across the UN system.
