Bishkek-Balykchy train to run daily during tourist season

The Bishkek-Balykchy train service is set to increase its frequency, transitioning to a daily schedule beginning June 26, 2026. This enhancement is a direct response to the anticipated surge in tourism with the start of the high season.

The state-owned enterprise Kyrgyz Temir Zholu announced that the passenger train, designated No. 608/609, will depart from Bishkek-2 station at 8:06 a.m., arriving in Balykchy at 12:12 p.m. The service extends to Balykchy Beach, with arrival at 12:37 p.m. The return journey commences at 6:40 p.m., reaching Bishkek-2 by 11:11 p.m. Key stops along the route include Kant, Ivanovka, Tokmok, and Kemin.

This daily service will remain in effect until September 13, catering to the influx of travelers during the summer months. The train is equipped with up to 16 carriages, offering a range of classes from standard to VIP accommodations.

Pricing for tickets is dependent on the chosen carriage class and the payment method employed. Kyrgyz Temir Zholu has also implemented discounted fares for passengers opting for cashless payment methods, aiming to streamline transactions and encourage modern payment practices.
