Bishkek cultural guide: Exhibitions, concerts, and new film releases highlight the week

Bishkek's cultural calendar is offering a diverse range of events for residents and visitors this week, with a strong focus on visual arts and new cinematic experiences. The Gapar Aitiev Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts is hosting several exhibitions that allow for exploration of both permanent collections and special projects.

Visitors can engage with the museum's permanent displays of paintings, graphics, and sculptures daily, except on Mondays. Additionally, the exhibition "Continuation. Mentor-Student" runs until August 7, highlighting the crucial artistic lineage from teacher to student, showcasing how tradition evolves through new forms. Another exhibition, "Research Interest," is available until August 9. The ensemble features British guitarist Guthrie Govan, known for his work with Hans Zimmer's orchestra, alongside drummer Gergo Borlai and bassist Anton Davidyants. For film lovers, August 6 brings a slate of new releases, including the sci-fi film "Spider-Man: Far From Home," the animated "Smeshariki Through the Universes," the comedy "Oken Ava," the animated adventure "Pororo the Penguin: Deep Sea Adventure," and the drama "All That We Lost."
