Bishkek Theater School Named After People's Artist Bobek Ibrayev

The theater school attached to the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater in Bishkek has been officially named in honor of the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bobek Ibrayev. The renowned director and educator is celebrated for his substantial impact on the development of Kyrgyz theatrical arts.

The Ministry of Culture announced the decision, stating it aims to immortalize Ibrayev's significant contributions. His work has been instrumental in shaping the national stage culture and in nurturing professional theatrical talent within Kyrgyzstan.

The naming ceremony was marked by a special event: the presentation of a graduation play, "Face to Face," performed by the students of the 2025-2026 academic year. This showcased the continuation of the artistic legacy that Ibrayev helped to build.

Soyunbek Nadirbekov, the First Deputy Minister of Culture, emphasized the importance of this recognition. He highlighted Ibrayev's role in fostering a national theatrical identity and in the crucial task of training new generations of actors and directors.
