Exhibition about Founding Fathers of USA opens at Bishkek History Museum

Bishkek's National History Museum is now hosting a traveling exhibition titled "Museum of the Founding Fathers of the USA." The display is dedicated to the history of the United States' formation and is part of the international Freedom 250 program, timed to coincide with the nation's 250th anniversary of independence.

The exposition features 20 artworks that highlight prominent American statesmen and pivotal events in the country's history. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from Kyrgyz government agencies and the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Lesslie Viguerie emphasized the significance of the anniversary.

"The 250th anniversary of America is a wonderful opportunity to study our shared history and reflect on timeless values: freedom, the right to self-determination, and the bold vision required to build something lasting," Viguerie stated. "These values remain just as relevant today as they were in 1776."

The exhibition will remain in Bishkek until June 28. Following its run in the capital, it is scheduled to travel to other locations across Kyrgyzstan throughout 2026. The Freedom 250 project aims to explore key moments in American history, including the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Organizers hope the exhibition will educate visitors about the lives and contributions of the Founding Fathers and demonstrate how principles like individual rights, the rule of law, and representative government, established centuries ago, continue to shape the modern world.
