On June 28, 1969, an Aeroflot Il-14G operating local flight Zh-28 from Talas to Frunze crashed approximately 14 minutes after takeoff. The aircraft struck a barren, gentle mountain slope, slid approximately 50 meters uphill, and was completely destroyed and partially burned. All 40 individuals on board perished. Investigations concluded that the pilot's violation of visual flight rules, including deviating from the route and failing to maintain a safe altitude, caused the disaster.
