Kyrgyzstan PM Urges Water Safety After Tragic Drownings

Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, has issued a stark warning and a plea for increased vigilance regarding water safety across the nation. The call comes in the wake of recent tragic drownings that have deeply affected the country.

Kasymaliev specifically referenced the recovery of a six-year-old boy's body in the Kegety Gorge, who was tragically swept away by a water current. He also noted that search efforts are ongoing for a 15-year-old who disappeared in the Talas region. The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

I instructed the Minister of Emergency Situations to take the search and rescue operations under personal control and make every necessary effort.

"Unfortunately, such tragic incidents have occurred in our country in recent days," Kasymaliev stated. He confirmed that he had instructed the Minister of Emergency Situations to personally oversee search and rescue operations, mobilizing over a thousand personnel, including emergency responders, police, volunteers, and local residents, for the search in Kegety Gorge.
