Bizarre Bank Robbery: Man faces trial for stealing ten euros

A bizarre bank robbery case is heading to court in Hannover, Germany, where a 28-year-old man faces charges for allegedly holding up a bank branch with a knife, only to make off with a mere ten euros.

The incident occurred in July when the accused, reportedly a drug addict, entered the bank in Hannover's Nordstadt district armed with a 30-centimeter knife. He is said to have threatened an employee, demanding money. However, bank staff repeatedly informed him that the branch did not have a cash register.

In a peculiar turn of events, a witness allegedly intervened, offering the suspect ten euros from his own wallet in exchange for the knife. The suspect reportedly handed over the weapon. The court stated that the motive behind the alleged robbery remains unclear.

The 28-year-old has insisted that the robbery was not a joke and even suggested that the police should be called. Witnesses detained him until authorities arrived. He is scheduled to appear before the Hannover District Court on Monday.
