Blue Bird adds fourth weekly Tel Aviv-Amsterdam flight as summer demand rises

Blue Bird Airways is adding a fourth weekly flight between Tel Aviv and Amsterdam, effective August 10, as demand for summer travel surges. The Greek carrier will operate the route on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with one-way fares starting at €164.

This expansion aligns with Ben-Gurion Airport's preparation for a busy August, anticipating approximately 2.6 million passengers throughout the month. Daily traffic is projected to reach between 90,000 and 95,000 passengers on most weekdays, with five dates expected to see around 100,000 travelers.

"We are seeing a steady increase in demand for flights to Amsterdam from both leisure and business travelers," said Arnon Englender, one of Blue Bird Airways’ owners. "Adding a fourth weekly flight allows us to better meet this growing demand while offering our customers greater flexibility and more convenient travel options."

The increased Amsterdam service is part of a wider expansion of Blue Bird's operations from Israel. In May, the airline launched three additional summer routes from Tel Aviv to Bulgaria, Crete, and the Greek island of Kos. Blue Bird, owned by the Israeli tourism group Kavei Hufsha, has maintained a significant presence at Ben-Gurion Airport, continuing operations when many international airlines suspended services to Israel. The airline was also among the first foreign carriers to resume flights after the Israel-Iran war began, initially restarting Tel Aviv-Athens service in April.
