BMKG: Light Rain Expected Across Parts of Indonesia Today

Indonesia can expect light rain showers across various regions on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, as forecasted by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). The weather outlook indicates a mix of conditions, with some areas experiencing partly cloudy skies while others anticipate rainfall.

In Sumatra, cities like Banda Aceh are predicted to have partly cloudy weather, while Medan, Pekanbaru, and Palembang are among those expecting light rain. Java will see partly cloudy skies in Semarang and cloudy conditions in Surabaya, with thick clouds potentially covering Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta. Serang is specifically forecast to receive light rain. Kalimantan's forecast includes cloudy weather in Banjarmasin and light rain in Pontianak, Palangkaraya, and Samarinda, with a warning for rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Tanjung Selor.

Further east, Bali and Nusa Tenggara anticipate cloudy weather in Kupang, while Denpasar and Mataram will experience thick clouds. Sulawesi's cities, including Makassar and Kendari, are expected to be cloudy, with light rain predicted for Mamuju, Palu, Gorontalo, and Manado. Maluku and North Maluku will see heavy cloud cover in Ternate and light rain in Ambon. The Papua region's forecast includes haze in Merauke and cloudy skies in Jayapura and Jayawijaya, with heavy clouds expected in Sorong, Manokwari, and Nabire.
