However, reaching its full potential requires waiting for the eight-speed automatic transmission to shift to the appropriate gear and unleash the full 670 Nm of torque.

The M Sport Pro package includes a firmer suspension, making the car manageable despite its high center of gravity. Drivers will need to be cautious of potholes on Hungarian secondary roads to protect the 20-inch wheels. The steering is precise, and the brakes are easily modulated, contributing to a satisfying driving experience for this larger diesel BMW X3.

Inside, the digital instrument cluster and multimedia display are integrated into a single frame, with some buttons now capacitive. The iDrive control dial remains, and the manually-shiftable automatic transmission and 4x4 drive are standard features.

This model is one of only four remaining contenders in the mid-size SUV market with a six-cylinder engine. The BMW X3 40d starts at 27 million forints, similar to the electric iX3 40. Additional customization can add millions more, with the tested vehicle priced at nearly 33 million forints. For this price, buyers receive a vehicle that is close to ideal, offering good usability and fuel efficiency.
