BN reaffirms commitment to Federal Government until term ends

Barisan Nasional (BN) is firmly committed to fulfilling its role and responsibilities within the Federal Government until the end of its current term, according to Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, a Supreme Council member. He stated that BN consistently provides full commitment to any partnership it enters, emphasizing that such commitments are not made or withdrawn lightly.

This includes the issue of BN's participation and position in the Federal Government together with Pakatan Harapan (PH).

This commitment extends to BN's participation in the Federal Government alongside Pakatan Harapan (PH). Mohamed Khaled highlighted that BN's agreement to form the Federal Government was driven by a desire to provide political stability for the nation. This stance aligns with previous statements made by UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

More importantly, BN's agreement and commitment to jointly succeed in the formation of this Federal Government was made out of awareness to provide political stability in the country.

Mohamed Khaled, who is also an UMNO Vice President, addressed the cooperation despite BN competing against PH in state elections in Sabah, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan. He clarified that state-level electoral differences do not impede the strong cooperation at the federal level, describing it as a unique and mature political reality for Malaysia that should be accepted openly.

The difference in administration at the state level does not hinder good cooperation at the federal level. This is a unique structure and reality of our country. This form of cooperation and political convention should start to be accepted maturely and openly.

He noted that the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16) will be a point for future decisions, but this will not alter the current federal cooperation. "For now, BN will remain committed and serious in carrying out its role and responsibilities in the Federal Government until the end of the term," Mohamed Khaled asserted. This statement comes in response to PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement that PKR would maintain its cooperation with BN and UMNO at the federal level to ensure political stability and public prosperity.
