BN's Big Win in Johor: Time to Give Young Leaders a Chance - Ku Li

Veteran UMNO politician Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, often referred to as Ku Li, believes the substantial victory achieved by Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Johor state election is a clear sign that the time has come to entrust leadership roles to the younger generation. He asserts that this success underscores the ability of young leaders to introduce fresh perspectives that have successfully rekindled public trust in UMNO and BN.

"I am also very confident that this is a starting point that can showcase the abilities of our young members," Ku Li stated in a press release. He envisions this as a crucial moment for UMNO's revival, paving the way for more young leaders who possess a strong fighting spirit, commitment, and sincerity in championing the welfare of the people.

Ku Li specifically pointed to the Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, as an example of promising young leadership. He recalled witnessing Onn Hafiz's potential leadership firsthand when the latter voluntarily assisted him during his bid for the UMNO presidency in 2018. Since then, Ku Li has observed Onn Hafiz's dedication and hard work, which culminated in BN's victory in the Johor state polls.

Ku Li is confident that upcoming elections will provide a platform for many more young UMNO members, driven by a passion for justice and a commitment to the people, to emerge.

He stressed the importance of capitalizing on the renewed public trust following the Johor win. This, he argued, requires BN to prove it is a more progressive and responsive party, capable of addressing the daily concerns of the populace. The new narrative and approach adopted by UMNO Johor and UMNO Malaysia, he believes, can catalyze a transformation in the party's work culture and strengthen its bond with the people.
