Board of Peace demands Israel comply with Gaza ceasefire, calls for end to kite attacks

The Board of Peace (BoP) has conveyed a strong message to Hamas, demanding an immediate cessation of kite launches and all militant activities directed at Israel. This demand, delivered through Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish mediators, warns of "serious consequences" for continued violations. The message was relayed via a new monitoring mechanism led by the United States.

A BoP official stressed that while Hamas must stop all militant activity, including the use of kites, Israel must also adhere to the ceasefire agreement. "Military action cannot extend beyond responding to genuine and imminent threats," the official stated, highlighting the need for mutual compliance to de-escalate tensions in the Gaza Strip.

These developments come as Israel has intensified its efforts to apprehend terrorists responsible for the October 7 attacks. The IDF and Shin Bet recently conducted strikes targeting five weapons storage facilities and a Hamas launch site, reportedly containing rockets, explosives, and military equipment. The IDF noted that these facilities were located within mosques and adjacent to humanitarian infrastructure.
