Boat capsizes on Vietnam's Ngàn Phố River, killing four

A tragic incident on the Ngàn Phố River in Sơn Kim 1 commune, Hà Tĩnh province, Vietnam, has resulted in the deaths of four individuals. The victims were identified as Phạm Thị Hồng, 35, her 5-year-old daughter, and two other relatives, aged 12 and 10.

The group was reportedly on a recreational outing, boating and swimming in the river, when their vessel capsized around 5:45 PM on June 2. The exact cause of the capsizing is not immediately clear, but the location is described as having deep water.

Following the incident, local residents noticed people struggling in the water and raised the alarm, alerting local authorities. Despite rescue efforts, the victims were not successfully rescued. By the time they were discovered, all four had drowned.

Local authorities, including police and military personnel, along with community organizations, have mobilized to assist the families. They are working to ensure the victims are returned to their families for burial according to local customs. The community is mourning the loss of the four individuals in what has been described as a serious accident.
