Bodø/Glimt qualifies for Champions League group stage again

Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt have secured a spot in the Champions League group stage for the second year running, following their decisive 3-0 victory over Dutch side Nijmegen. The aggregate scoreline finished at an impressive 6-1, confirming Bodø/Glimt's return to Europe's premier club competition.

During the match, Danish player Villads Nielsen, 21, played the full game for Bodø/Glimt, while 17-year-old Mikkel Bro Hansen was sidelined due to injury. For Nijmegen, Tobias Storm and Clement Bischoff played the entire match. However, their team's hopes were significantly hampered early on when goalkeeper Gonzalo Crettaz was shown a red card for handling the ball outside the penalty area, leaving Nijmegen to play with ten men.

Bodø/Glimt's previous Champions League campaign saw them cause major upsets against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid en route to the knockout stages, where they were eventually eliminated by Sporting CP. This year, they aim to build on that success.

Fellow Norwegian team Viking also has a chance to join Bodø/Glimt in the group stage, holding a 2-2 draw from their first leg against Dinamo Zagreb ahead of their home match. Meanwhile, Danish international Kasper Høgh, who played a key role for Bodø/Glimt last season, is currently involved in a tense playoff match with Celtic against Lask Linz. Celtic won their home leg 3-0, but Lask Linz fought back in the return fixture, forcing extra time.
