A tragic incident in Panama's Darién province has claimed the life of a 26-year-old man whose vehicle was swept away by a flash flood. The man had been reported missing after attempting to cross a creek that had swollen due to heavy rains.

According to the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), the victim was driving a 4x4 vehicle and tried to navigate a road affected by the rising river. He was caught by the powerful current while in the middle of the crossing and was ultimately carried away. Emergency teams located his body late Thursday evening, confirming he had no vital signs.
