Bogor Regency Pushes for Southern and Western Railway Network Expansion

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto is spearheading an initiative to expand the railway network in the southern and western parts of Bogor Regency. In a meeting on Monday evening, June 22, 2026, Susmanto, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Transportation and PT KAI (Persero), presented plans for developing the region's rail-based transportation system.

The primary goals of this expansion are to enhance connectivity across the regency, alleviate chronic traffic congestion, and stimulate economic development. The proposed projects aim to create a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable transportation network, ultimately improving the quality of life for residents.

With better connectivity, it is expected to open up investment opportunities, accelerate economic growth, and improve the quality of life for the community.

A significant focus of the development plan is the proposed construction of a new rail line connecting Gadog to the Puncak Rest Area. This line is intended to improve access to the popular Puncak tourist destination and serve as a long-term solution to the severe traffic jams that plague the area. Additionally, plans are in motion to develop the Jasinga–Tenjo and Parung Panjang–Jasinga rail corridors. These efforts are designed to bolster new economic zones, facilitate commuter mobility, and support the growth of urban clusters in western Bogor.

Regent Susmanto emphasized that these development plans will be supported by comprehensive and in-depth studies to ensure their effectiveness, efficiency, and suitability to Bogor's geography and the community's needs. The Bogor Regency government is committed to fostering strong synergy with the central government and all stakeholders to realize a modern transportation system that supports sustainable regional development.
