Bogor Station to be revitalized into integrated transport hub

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is partnering with the Bogor City government to revitalize Bogor Station, transforming it into an integrated transportation hub. The initiative aims to significantly improve passenger comfort, boost service capacity, and enhance the overall aesthetic of the station.

Bobby Rasyidin, President Director of PT KAI, stated that the revitalization is part of a broader plan to make Bogor Station more convenient, visually appealing, and capable of accommodating a larger volume of passengers. The project encompasses various aspects of passenger service, including optimizing drop-off and pick-up zones, designating public transport feeder stops, and streamlining passenger flow for pick-ups and drop-offs.

This development is expected to elevate Bogor City's status as a provider of mass transportation facilities. Discussions between PT KAI and the Bogor City government, held at the Bogor City Hall, also focused on integrating the station area with the adjacent Bogor City Square. Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, identified the joint development of the station and square area as a primary focus.

Both parties are set to finalize a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to formalize their collaboration. Rachim expressed confidence that the revitalized area will become a source of pride for Bogor and Indonesia, representing a future of more comfortable transportation. The meeting also touched upon other rail-based transport developments, including facilities in Sukaresmi, LRT, trams, activating the Ciomas-Rancamaya Station, and extending the commuter line to Cigombong.
