Bola Oyebamiji: Osun Deserves Business-minded Governor

Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election, asserts that his extensive background in banking, public finance, and administration uniquely positions him to lead the state. Oyebamiji, a former Commissioner for Finance and past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), argues that Osun needs a business-savvy governor capable of transforming its abundant human and natural resources into widespread prosperity.

Oyebamiji expressed his belief that he possesses the necessary managerial competence and experience to reposition Osun State for greatness. He cited his service as Commissioner for Finance under two previous administrations and his tenure as Managing Director of OSICOL (now Omoluabi Holdings Limited), highlighting his track record of delivering excellent results. He also pointed to his leadership at NIWA, where he claims unprecedented progress was achieved during his two-year term.

To maximise these assets, Osun requires a focused, credible, knowledgeable manager with proven character and capacity. A leader who can confidently sign their signature and stand by it. I, Bola Oyebamiji, offer myself because I have the managerial competence and experience to reposition Osun State for greatness and deliver the dividends of democracy to our people.

Addressing why Osun deserves a change in leadership, Oyebamiji contrasted the financial allocations received by previous administrations with the current one. He noted that the APC administration under Governor Gboyega Oyetola received approximately N2.6 billion monthly from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). In contrast, the state now receives an average of N16 billion monthly, a figure he believes has not translated into commensurate benefits for the state and its citizens.

Oyebamiji's campaign centers on his "PROSPERITY Agenda," which he believes will guide his governance priorities, address security concerns, and ultimately lead the APC to reclaim Osun State. He is confident that his proven capacity and experience make him the ideal candidate to steer the state toward economic growth and improved living standards for its people.

And to properly situate why Osun deserves a better deal at this time, the last allocation received by the APC administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) stood at approximately N2.6 billion. Today, the average monthly allocation to the state is about N16 billion without commensurate values to the state and her citizens.
