Bolivia intensifies search for prosecutor missing after plane crash

Search and rescue operations for prosecutor Juan Benjo Huchani Alpiri, who disappeared after an aircraft accident in Beni, Bolivia, have been significantly reinforced. The intensified efforts are now in their fourth day, focusing on the estancia Cachiscani area.

The Bolivian Air Force (FAB) has deployed additional specialized personnel and a second drone to enhance reconnaissance capabilities. The operation includes four SAR instructors and 12 SAR volunteers working on the ground. Helitransported operations have seen the FAB-003 helicopter deploy four SAR patrols up to 20 kilometers away, covering a 180-degree area from the estancia.

Additionally, the FAB-402 aircraft has made multiple flights to transport SAR patrols and supplies, aiming to sustain the teams operating in the remote area. The use of two drones, one from the V Air Brigade and another from the Departmental Prosecutor's Office of Beni, has allowed for low-altitude aerial sweeps covering approximately 40 kilometers.

Despite these extensive measures, the search on Monday yielded negative results, and Huchani remains missing. The Bolivian Air Force has stated that search and rescue operations will continue using a combination of air and ground resources, with the Cachiscani area remaining the primary operational zone.
