Bolivia President to Inaugurate Key Road Section in Gran Chaco

President Rodrigo Paz Pereira is set to inaugurate the Acheral-Choere road section, a vital link connecting Tarija with Caraparí and Yacuiba. The ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, coincides with the anniversary of the Gran Chaco Autonomous Region. The newly completed stretch spans 17.59 kilometers of asphalted highway and features eight viaducts and two bridges, representing an investment of over 100 million bolivianos.

The road section will be delivered by President Rodrigo Paz as part of the activities for the anniversary of the Gran Chaco Autonomous Region.

The project's completion marks a significant milestone, especially after its reactivation and optimization under the current administration. Demetrio Calavi, regional manager of the Bolivian Roads Administration (ABC), highlighted the project's importance for integrating the Tarija department. He noted that the work included slope stabilization, drainage construction, and other complementary works, all aimed at ensuring the road's durability and functionality.

The roadwork includes the construction of 17.59 kilometers of highway with an asphalt surface and the execution of eight viaducts and two bridges.

President Paz Pereira will be accompanied by Minister of Public Works Mauricio Zamora and ABC President Ernesto Farfán for the inauguration. The event will take place in the community of Acheral, underscoring the local significance of this infrastructure development.

In the current administration, the work was reactivated and the deadlines were optimized to achieve its definitive conclusion because it is a key road project for the integration of the Tarija department.
