Bolivia Revives Oruro-Challapata Dual Road Project With $73 Million Investment

Bolivia has reactivated the Oruro-Challapata dual carriageway project, a significant infrastructure initiative with an investment of $73 million. The project, which had been stalled, will now proceed with the completion of the 19.79-kilometer stretch between Cruce Vinto and Cruce Huanuni.

Rodrigo Paz, along with Minister Mauricio Zamora, officially recommenced the construction work. This development is crucial for enhancing connectivity and facilitating trade and transport in the Oruro department. The project's financing is secured through a combination of resources from CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean) and a local counterpart contribution, underscoring a collaborative effort to boost regional development.

The dual carriageway is expected to significantly improve traffic flow, reduce travel times, and enhance safety along this vital corridor. Its completion is anticipated to stimulate economic activity by providing better access to markets and resources for local communities and businesses.
