Bolivia: Seven arrested, arsenal seized in Santa Ana de Yacuma raids

Bolivian police have arrested seven people and seized a substantial weapons cache during raids in Santa Ana de Yacuma, Beni. The operation, conducted under the "Fronteras Seguras" (Secure Borders) plan, also involved the confiscation of vehicles and properties.

Among the detainees are Bolivian, Brazilian, and Venezuelan citizens. The police reported that three individuals are being held as suspects. The operation included members of the Criminal Intelligence Analysis Department (DACI) and the Special Force to Combat Crime (FELCC), working alongside the Public Ministry.

According to departmental commander Colonel Iván Bernal Salazar, the raids are linked to investigations into the murder of Israel Davieds Rodríguez. The seized weapons include two AR-15 rifles, one AK-47 rifle, two 9mm pistols, two "lemon" type grenades, various magazines, ammunition, cell phones, and other investigative materials. Three vehicles and properties were also sealed off.

The operation involved members of the Department of Criminal Analysis and Intelligence (DACI) dependent on the Special Force to Combat Crime (FELCC) along with authorities from the Public Ministry.

During one of the interventions, a shootout occurred, though no injuries were reported. Police and Public Ministry representatives strategically retreated for safety. The confiscated items were found in a hangar where several arrests were made.

The various raids carried out are part of the investigations for the murder of Israel Davieds Rodríguez and in compliance with the "Frontera Segura" Operations Plan.
