Thieves Cut Through Roof to Rob Santa Cruz Jewelry Store

A brazen daylight robbery occurred early Saturday morning when criminals targeted a jewelry store in the heart of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The thieves gained access by cutting a hole through the roof of the establishment, located on Charcas Street between Quijarro and Campero in the Los Pozos area.

Inside, the perpetrators systematically emptied the display cases, stealing an estimated 200 to 300 pieces of gold and silver jewelry, including chains, bracelets, and rings. Security cameras captured footage of at least one of the suspects, though authorities believe two to three individuals were involved in the heist.

This targeted theft is not an isolated incident. Local merchants report that similar break-ins have become increasingly frequent in the Los Pozos neighborhood. In at least two other instances, thieves attempted to access jewelry stores by cutting through roofs, but were thwarted by protective metal mesh.

The economic losses are still being calculated by the affected business owners, who are grappling with the aftermath of the extensive theft. The recurring nature of these crimes has raised concerns among shopkeepers in the area, highlighting a potential security issue.
